先日、アメリカはオレゴン州ポートランドの単身赴任の旅から戻ってきたばかりだったのですが、またまた単身赴任の旅に沖縄に出発です。
今回は沖縄の伝統的風習について話していきたいと思います！

沖縄には内地の人間には見たことのない風習がいっぱいあります。
アメリカのポートランドに住んでいた時もその土地の色々な文化に触れてきましたが、沖縄でも初めてみた色々な文化があってすごくおもしろい経験をさせていただいています。
有名なところでいうと建物の門のところに一対でシーサーが置いてあったり屋根の上にシーサーが置いてあるのを見ます。魔除けのために置かれているそうですが、中国や南方からの影響なのでしょうか？
シーサーも買えるで。
良く家の壁に表札みたいなので「石敢當」と書かれた石が埋め込まれていたり、石碑みたいなのがあったりします。魔除けとして魔物の侵入を防ぐためのものとして、丁字路や三叉路などの突き当りに石敢當を設けています。元は中国伝来の風習だそうで、福建省が発祥とされています。
似たような魔除けは台湾、香港、シンガポールの一部にも見られるそうです。
川崎駅前にも沖縄に巨大台風が来た時の見舞金のお礼として、石敢當が設置されています。
なので、沖縄で何気に歩いているといっぱいこの石碑があります。
あと初めて聞いたのが、沖縄では割と人によってらしいのですが、ユタというシャーマンに色々なことを尋ねるそうです。人生の色々なイベントがあるときにユタの意見を求めるそうです。風水的な感じなのでしょうか？
女性司祭者はノロと言ってユタ等のシャーマンとは違って民衆の宗教的機能を担う職能者だそうです。
他に特徴的なものとしてはキッチンには火を司る神様のヒヌカン（火の神）を置いたりしてます。
やっぱりその土地に暮らすと色々な文化が見えてきて面白いですよね。

「About Okinawa traditional culture.」
There are many customs in Okinawa that even Japanese people who do not live in Okinawa have never seen.
I often see a pair of Shisa at the gate of the building and on the roof. It is placed as an amulet, but is it an influence from China or the south?
It also often looks like a nameplate on the wall of a house, so there is a stone with the words “Ishiganto” embedded in the wall. As a talisman to prevent the invasion of demons, we have installed it on the wall at the end of the road. It seems that it was originally a custom from China.
Similar amulets can be found in parts of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore.
In front of Kawasaki Station, “Ishiganto” is installed as a returning the favor that Kawasaki city helped Okinawa when a huge typhoon came.
The other thing I heard for the first time in Okinawa was “Yuta”. It seems that some people asked a shaman called Yuta about various things.
They ask “Yuta” their opinions when there are various events in them life.
Is it like Feng Shui?
The local female priest is said to be Noro in Okinawa, who is a professional that has the religious function.
As the another custom, there is a god of fire called “Hinukan” in the kitchen.
After all, when you live in that area, you can see various cultures and customs, which is interesting.
